Johannes Kepler University Campus

Linz, Austria

MRG Studio worked with Zaha Hadid Architects on a competition entry for the Johannes Kepler University in Linz, Austria.

The landscape scheme proposed to connect the Science quarter with the heart of the campus and an extension to west to provide key facilities for leisure and wellbeing.

This involved consolidating main pedestrian thoroughfares in the most vibrant areas of the campus whilst maintaining a rich and varied network of public spaces for students and the community. With a view to enhancing local habitats, we proposed native oaks and nut trees for the structural landscape, floodplain trees around the ponds and groves of fruit trees in gathering spaces.
