MRG Studio are working with AHMM Architects on the redevelopment of a site comprising 29-43 Oxford Street and 17-19 Soho Square.

We have designed a rooftop garden that is envisioned to be a quiet retreat for local residents and workers, a refuge from the noise and congestion of East Oxford Street and Soho Square Gardens.

The garden design is themed around the journeys and discoveries of naturalist and botanist Joseph Banks, who lived at Soho Square and sailed on the Endeavour with Captain Cook.

The upper terrace on Level 8 will feel open, offering visitors a bigger sense of the sky from its elevation above the surrounding streets.

The lower garden on Level 7 will feel sheltered and intimate, with more lush planting and smaller seating areas.

This project was recently granted planning permission by Westminster Council.
